About Dionne

Dionne Eldridge Headshot

I have always wanted a career where my values align with my work—one that allows me to support people, promote fairness, and make a meaningful impact in my own way. However, I wasn’t always sure how to turn that passion into a profession.

My first step led me to human resources- into a people and culture team role, where I spent over a decade shaping workplace experiences. Over time, transitioning into DEI felt like a natural progression. I wanted to build on the positive aspects of working with people by actively supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked in professional services in large organisations and smaller third-sector organisations. I enjoy the challenges and opportunities of both. I draw on my knowledge of people management, as well as my own journey and lived experience to support organisations in creating more inclusive cultures.

My areas of expertise

My passion for inclusion stems from lived experience—that’s what led me into this field in the first place. I attended an intersectional event focused on LGBTQ+ inclusion and mental health and was so moved by the speakers and discussions that I knew this was where I wanted to focus my efforts.

Social mobility is another cause close to my heart. I firmly believe that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. I challenge the misconception that diversity, equality, and inclusion require lowering standards—in fact, they elevate them by ensuring the best talent isn’t overlooked. I take great pride in challenging this narrative and supporting organisations in creating more opportunities for underrepresented groups.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work has been supporting and collaborating with employee networks. There is so much passion that comes from these groups, who have a genuine desire to create positive change in their organisations. However, they often need guidance and support to turn that passion into action. My experience has shown that for networks and individuals to thrive, they need to feel safe, valued, and empowered to contribute meaningfully.

Now, I feel incredibly fortunate to work alongside my colleagues at enei, contributing to the very same events that once inspired me. My hope is that they continue to inspire and create a positive impact for others.

Supporting organisations

I love collaborating on programmes and projects that drive impact, and I genuinely enjoy speaking with members—whether it’s supporting them with queries, helping to find solutions, or simply bouncing ideas and challenging perspectives.

What inspires me?

I love reading, travelling, and spending time in nature, especially on dog walks. I find that some of my best ideas come when I’m away from the desk and screen.

A thought to leave you with

I see diversity and differences as sources of strength. As Audre Lord stated, ‘It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognise, accept and celebrate those differences.’
