UK Social Mobility Deteriorates

The Social Mobility Commission's State of the Nation 2016 report has warned of declining social mobility in the UK, as it finds that only one in ten people manage to break out of low paid jobs. Further, only one in eight children from low income backgrounds are likely to become high income earners as adults, with the failings being blamed on the education system and a two tier labour market.
