18% Of Working Mothers Forced To Quit Work Due To Lack Of Flexible Working

The latest Workingmums Annual Survey has found that employers are turning down more than a quarter of the flexible working requests made by women. The survey found that more than two thirds of women on maternity leave who had a flexible working request declined believed it was unjustified, and more than two in five women on maternity leave would not return to work if their employer refused to accomodate flexible working. However, nearly four in five mothers on maternity leave who had a flexible working request turned down did not appeal the decision.
