MPs Condemn Pregnancy Protections

A new report from the Women and Equalities Committee has condemned current Government strategies to reduce pregnancy and maternity discrimination, saying they "lack bite". The report recommends that employers are legally forced to conduct risk assessments when they are informed that an employee is pregnant, as well as extending the right to paid time off for antenatal appointments to all workers, and giving more baby-related rights to casual, agency and zero-hour staff who have served a period of continuous employment.
